NEC Corporation has announced the launch of its supercomputer, dubbed as SX-9. It is the most powerful supercomputer in the world till today featuring high-speed scientific computation system and ultra high speed processor.

The fastest vector supercomputer SX-9 will be highly useful for advanced weather forecasting, aerospace, fluid dynamics, environmental simulation and polymeric design, explains NEC.

The SX-9 has the ability to calculate 839 teraflops or 839 trillion floating point operations per second.

If you wonder how big this supercomputer is, the picture on the top shows you its actual size. It’s much taller than the lady who is standing next to it. Apparently, it’s not something meant for your work desk.
